Terms of Service

The ground rules for using U-turnity.

Last updated: 13 September 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the U-turnity app and website (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

2.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use U-turnity. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2.2 Your account

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.
  • You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.

2.3 How U-turnity works

U-turnity lets you create and join spontaneous, real-life meetups ("U-turns") with people from your contact list, including through public or local-business events and the "First Come First Served" invitation mode. When you create or respond to a U-turn, you are entering into an arrangement directly with the other participants — U-turnity is a tool that facilitates the invitation and coordination, not a party to the meetup itself.

2.4 Your conduct

When using U-turnity, you agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to harass, threaten, or harm others.
  • Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
  • Send spam, unsolicited invitations, or misleading event information.
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or data without authorization.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including through reverse engineering or introducing malicious code.

2.5 Safety at real-life meetups

U-turnity encourages spontaneous, real-life connection — which comes with the same common-sense precautions as meeting anyone in person. You are solely responsible for your own safety and decisions when attending or hosting a U-turn. We recommend meeting in public places when meeting someone new, and using good judgment at all times. U-turnity is not responsible for the conduct of any user, or for anything that happens at an event arranged through the app.

2.6 User content

You retain ownership of any content you submit through the Service (such as event descriptions). By submitting content, you grant U-turnity a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.

2.7 Intellectual property

The U-turnity name, logo, app, and website (excluding user content) are the property of U-turnity and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.

2.8 Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

2.9 Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, U-turnity shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to any harm, loss, or dispute arising from a meetup arranged through the app.

2.10 Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or for any other reason, with or without notice.

2.11 Governing law

These Terms are governed by Belgian law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Belgium, unless mandatory consumer protection law provides otherwise.

2.12 Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
